Hi, I’m Warren Oberholser. I’m a realtor in the East Bay Tri-Valley area in Northern California. My goal is to help both buyers and sellers get maximum results for one of their biggest investments, their home.
In this BLOG I will objectively show your show you how an empty, unappealing house can be transformed with staging into a cozy and inviting home.
Each property was recently renovated and updated prior to the the staging.
I’m going to start off with a small condo. This was an investor flip.
The before pictures reflect the condition of the property before repairs and cleanout. Note the stagers detailed to define the layout of the small property, starting with the entrance leading into the living room. Now, this has minimal effects, giving it a clean and functional look.
The second property is a townhome.
This property had a long narrow, great room that combines the entrance landing, the living room, dining area, and it ends up taking a jog to the left and that’s where the kitchen is. Now, this is where a good stager knows how to define all the areas I just mentioned, and yet ties everything together. I’m now going to go over some before and after pictures of kitchens. You’ll note the stager doesn’t have to bring a lot of effects and accessories in, just enough to give good accents.
The last two properties are larger homes. This is a large one-story home.
Unfortunately, I only have pictures of the living room and dining area. Now, with large open spaces, the stager has to fill the rooms with enough furniture, artwork, and accessories to make the area appear whole and complete. They have to make sure all the pieces complement each other and work together properly. At the same time, the house must appear spacious and inviting.
The last home presented a little bit of a challenge for my stager. The bottom story was this oversized great room configuration that wrapped around the entire downstairs.
The house is actually very cool and its design offered a lot of different options. Therefore, I had to make sure that we could display all the cool features and possibilities this unique floor plan had to offer. So what the stager did was designed different areas or theming throughout this great room, while at the same time, she paid careful attention to detail to ensure that all the furniture, the artwork, the accessories tied together and complimented each other. It was very neat the way it turned out.
I hope you enjoyed this article. Please let me know if you have any questions. Warren
