Hi, I’m Warren Oberholser. I’m a realtor in the East Bay Tri-Valley area in Northern California. My goal is to help both buyers and sellers get maximum results for one of their biggest investments, their home.

Now, I’ve already posted a few BLOGS and videos on Danville, including the pros and cons, cost of living, and my Coolest Neighborhood series. In this BLOG, I’ll rate the top subjects for each category. The criteria or service I use for the rating is a combination of information I found from bestplaces.net, niche.net Zippia, greatschools.org, TripAdvisor, and the review sites like Google and Yelp. Of course, this is not a scientific study, but at least you can appreciate the methodology I use to create my list.

Before I start, I would like to give you a little overview of Danville, California. Danville is bordered between Alamo and San Ramon, and it can be accessed from the 680 Freeway. In 1982, it became one of the incorporated municipalities in California that uses the name town, not the city. This is why it’s referred to as the town of Danville. For more of a deep dive, please watch the pros and cons of living in the town of Danville.

Danville has several TOP neighborhoods

DANVILLE’S TOP NEIGHBORHOODS

Danville has several neighborhoods to choose from. They range from older single-story ranch homes to newer home developments and gated communities. It all comes down to what type of property you’re interested in. Is it a condo or a two-story home, and how big of a home do you need, and how many bedrooms and bathrooms do you want? What features are you interested in? Pool, a large lot, or a view? What about location? Do you need quick access to the freeway close to the downtown shopping area, or do you need a particular school or park to live next to? So for this section, rather than try to rate one neighborhood to the next, because how do you do it anyway, what I’m going to do is feature two neighborhoods that I think are unique or have what I call the cool factor. Now, to step up my game, these neighborhoods have not been featured in any of my previous videos on Danville.

Number One: Leander Hills

These homes are built in the mid-1970s. Home size range is from 2,000 up to 3,500 square feet, and lot size is from an acre to a full acre. This area also has a few newer custom homes that were built in just the last couple of years. Some are over 5,000 square feet. Many of these homes have amazing backyards with a pool and an outdoor living area.

Cool Factor: Good-size homes on large lots in a quiet area, yet quick and easy access to the freeway

Number Two: Crow Canyon Heights

The development was built in the early 1980s. This is a mixture of condos and townhomes. Home size range from 1,500 to 1,900 square feet. This is a quiet gated area that offers beautiful grounds with a community pool and a cabana house. The lower entry price is a perfect opportunity to be a homeowner in Danville.

Cool Factor: A quiet secluded area close to the schools and the freeway

Danville has numerous parks, walking trails, and open space areas

PARKS

They have over 167 acres of parkland for public recreation. They have six community parks to include amenities for sports fields, bocce ball courts, dog park, batting cages, plenty of walking trails, and they even have their own catch and release fish pond.

Their top community park is Sycamore Valley Park. Now, this park has just about everything to include a large children’s play area, bocce ball courts, baseball fields, and sports fields. At the far end of the park, you’ll find batting cages and the entrance to Sand Hill Trail.

Danville’s most unique park is Hap Magee Ranch Park. This is a 17-acre park that offers walking trails, children’s play areas to include two separate facilities for both younger and older children, a water play area, a dog park, a picnic area, a victory garden, and much more.

Danville has one hotel: Best Western Danville Sycamore Inn

HOTELS

Danville has one hotel, the Best Western Danville Sycamore Inn.

It is a three-star hotel with a 4.2 rating from Google. Well, that wraps up my top best for Danville, California. Please let me know if I missed anything.

I hope you enjoyed this article. Please let me know if you have any questions. Warren
